Welcome to the Inflatable Boot Camp. In the years that I have been growing my company I have always been on the "lookout" for new and unique ideas as well as just basic advice on ways to make my company a bigger success. But this information was not easily and readily at hand. It took what most of us have faced which was hit or miss, trial by fire kind of learning. We have had a great deal of success and are humbled to be one of the fastest growing entertainment companies in the Mid-West. That is one of the reasons I have created The Inflatable Boot Camp. Not just to help new people in the industry but the veterans as well. Anyone who thinks that they know everything they will ever need to know in this business is either very arrogant or just plain stupid. Yes I said it. In order to be a true success you must be willing to be a constant student. I am proud to be both a teacher and a student.
This industry is filled with many "know-it-all's". Every year at the trade shows we constantly hear "I could have written that book myself" or "I've been doing this 20 years, what are you going to show me that I don't know already??" This is the kind of arrogance I am talking about. These people may have done well for themselves but will never reach their full potential because their "cup is full". Let me explain by telling you a quick story....
Once their was a man who tried to learn all he could about Zen. He read all the Zen books and visited all of the Zen web sites. He sure liked Zen. One day he heard about a great Zen Master and scheduled an appointment to meet him. On the day of their meeting the young man was eager to tell the master all he knew about what he had learned about the Zen principals and teachings. Zen this and Zen that. It went on for quite a while. Finally the master suggested that they have tea. He poured the young man a cup of tea but when the tea reached the top of the cup the master kept right on pouring. The tea ran onto the table and onto the floor but he kept pouring. Finally the young man could not take any more and said "STOP! The cup is full and no more tea will fit inside it!"
The master put down the tea pot and said to the young man "Much like this cup of tea that is full and can hold no more, the student must come with his "cup" empty and ready to learn. For if you come with preconceived notions and your head filled with assumptions then you simply come for confirmation and not for learning. Zen, like anything else in life can not be taught...it must be learned."
Of course the above story means that if we are not willing to learn and come with a "blank Slate" then we will not truly grasp and retain new and vital information that can change our lives and grow our businesses. I hope you too are a student and willing to invest in your business success by taking the time to learn new ideas and techniques that have re-shaped many others futures. To do this, simply "empty your cup" and dive into the Inflatable Boot Camp. I think you will see that we have a lot to offer in the way of books, courses and our Event Wizard Pro. I wish you great success and look forward to seeing you at the top!
